Rate £42.50 - £47.50 p/h DOE (outside IR35)

Siemens TIA Portal / Heavy Engineering / Materials Handling / Project concept & design

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a key client based in South Yorkshire who require a skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to support a major project on an initial 6-month contract. Our client provides full project lifecycle design, manufacture & installation within medium to heavy engineering industries UK wide.

For the position of Electrical Controls Engineer, you will conduct the following daily duties:

1. Design & program PLC / HMI / SCADA systems primarily using Siemens TIA Portal
2. Design of electrical control systems and panels and PLC control systems
3. Production of FDS / SDS
4. Prepare estimates, design & tender specifications
5. Attend client & sub-contractor meetings providing technical knowledge
6. Producing all associated documentation

The successful Electrical Controls Engineer will need to have the following attributes:

1. Strong appreciation for controls systems, design & programming using Siemens TIA Portal
2. Hands-on experience within heavy engineering & materials handling ideally within Nuclear
3. Experience in full project life cycle from initial design
4. Ability to produce & manage RAMS
5. Strong problem-solving & communication skills, working closely with client & suppliers
6. Working to electrical equipment machinery standards, and electrical installations (such as BS EN 60204 & BS7671)
