We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Systems Manager to join our team in Derby.
The Electrical Systems Manager supports the safe design and operation of electrical power systems, assets, and infrastructure for all sites in the UK. This role leads the statutory and regulatory electrical inspection programmes.
This role ensures the safety of electrical equipment operation, distinct from the contributions of the HSE team. This role reviews and approves designs and specifications for electrical equipment installations and modifications, leads the statutory and regulatory inspection programmes, and audits maintenance and reliability.
Responsibilities:
To ensure the safe operation, availability, and through-life condition of property-related electrical systems and infrastructure is maximized and documented, replacement is planned, and capacity is managed, as well as:
- Develop the Asset Management Policy to reflect the lifecycle requirements of electrical systems, assets, and infrastructure and ensure these requirements are reflected in vendor contracts.
- Develop a robust audit and assurance programme to ensure all electrical systems, assets, and infrastructure are managed and maintained in accordance with legislation, regulation, and Rolls-Royce standards.
- Ensure that forward maintenance plans are robust, including inspection and testing, end-of-life replacement, OEM warnings, and regulatory changes.
- Develop policy, frameworks, and systems to manage site electrical capacity and load.
- Ensure electrical systems drawings and documentation policies are effective and that changes are managed, and document libraries are up to date.
- Direct and augment the electrical improvement programmes, oversee professionals working on HV & LV networks.
- Develop an industry-wide external network to identify best practices, innovations, and improvement opportunities for electrical systems and assets.
- Play an integral part in the existing Rolls-Royce Electrical Safety Community of Practice.
- Support the company electrical safety SMEs, review company Management and Control Standards, training programmes, and site incident investigations.

- Experience designing, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical networks.
- Experience as an Authorising Engineer.
- Experience with project/programme management.
- Experience with evaluating and auditing electrical system condition and maintenance.
- Experience with FET, PAT.
- Proficient with MS Office software suite.
