Electrical/Automation Approval Engineer, Technical Centre China

Technical Centre China is strengthening the team and is seeking an experienced engineer in the field of electrical, automation and instrumentation. The successful candidate will work in the business area Maritime within Region Greater China, as part of the Approval section at Technical Centre China in Shanghai. The section delivers approval services and technical support to our clients.
This position will be based in our Shanghai office, located in Changning district at the Hongqiao State guest hotel.
As an Approval Engineer you will report to the Group Leader Electrical and Machinery within the Approval section.
Position description
The position offers great opportunity to work with colleagues across the disciplines and geographies of DNV to develop and deliver projects. You can develop personal and technical skills and solutions for our clients in various areas depending on qualifications and interests.
Typical tasks may include:
- Review of electrical, control and monitoring system documentation according to Class rules, Statutory regulations and international standards
- Review of documentation related to different class notations, such as Cyber Secure, Dynamic Positioning (DPS/DYNPOS etc.), Battery (Safety/Power), Shore Power, etc.
- Handle technical questions from internal and external clients
- Provide technical support to sales, marketing and business development

Position qualifications
Competencies:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, or other relevant field of engineering
- Deep knowledge of maritime electrical/control system and IEC/IEEE standards would be considered an advantage
- Deep knowledge of FMEA regarding DP/RP system would be considered an advantage
- Relevant experience about Cyber Security will be considered an advantage
- Young talent and fresh graduate are also welcomed to apply
