Building on our past. Ready for the future

Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts. We partner with customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their assets. We're bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.

Consultant I, Advisian (Low Carbon Markets Including Power)

Role Context:

Due to the continued growth in activities, Worley Consulting is seeking to fill a range of roles in our decarbonization advisory business within our Energy Chemical Resource team. The candidates will be key members of the decarbonization team, providing strategic direction, technical solutions, and business case support across all the aspects of our low carbon initiatives.

Our projects include master-planning, strategy, technical and economic analysis, configuration, planning, capital investment, concept studies and due diligence. We support our clients by developing low carbon pathways, net-zero roadmaps and long-term strategies. Take on a pivotal role in pioneering green initiatives, fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders dedicated to transforming the industry. You will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with subject matter experts across the entire value chain in a cross-disciplinary, multi-skilled environment, all united by a shared commitment to advancing the energy transition. We operate in an exciting, fast-moving sector and we need creative candidates who can excel in such a challenging and dynamic environment to develop innovative solutions beyond just "business-as-usual".

Low Carbon Markets Including Power

Electricity networks are key to unlocking energy transition projects and our clients' projects require us to have understanding of how power markets work within the project location. Understanding the LCOE impact on the green premium of the product and other market factors is key to unlocking a project's potential.

The candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of power project developments - ideally covering both generation and grid
  • Knowledge of PPA components and key commercial criteria
  • Understanding of power markets - across multiple locations
  • Demonstrate knowledge of power market drivers
  • 3-5 years plus within the power market sector.

You'll be:

  • Providing consulting services for all types of low carbon / decarbonization services across different sectors including refining and petrochemicals, upstream, power and financial community and other energy-intensive industries such as cement, metals processing. Prepare and present net-zero roadmaps and low carbon strategies.
  • Delivering consulting services to clients during all phases of an engagement, including benchmarking, gap analysis, solution identification, justification, prioritization, ranking, implementation and close out.
  • Supporting Low Carbon / Decarbonization strategy for regional growth - helping identify new areas for business, new clients or tools.
  • Supporting marketing and business development activities and selling consulting engagement of various sizes.
  • Meeting and presenting to clients and assisting with the selling process. We operate as a 'seller-doer' model - so we sell our own work. A key aspect of the job requires maintaining networks within the industry - both internal and external and proactively supporting sales activities - including client discussions, scope of work developments and discussion, proposals preparation, clarification meetings and negotiations.
  • Representing Worley Consulting on low carbon initiatives and the wider Worley Group as needed.
  • Preparing and delivering conference papers for delivery at international events.
  • Demonstrating technical expertise in one of the roles listed above.

You'll have:

  • A willingness to work within a 'sell-do' model, supporting business development activities, preparing proposals as well as project execution.
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to produce concise reports and presentations appropriate for all levels.
  • Strong self-starter and motivated to succeed.
  • Ability to identify new opportunities, leads and maintain network within the industry.
  • Practical consulting experience - including scoping, selling and delivery.
  • Significant experience of decarbonization / Low Carbon sectors.
  • Confidence to work at all levels of a client organization.
  • Desire to expand role and be adaptable to client's needs.
  • Fluency in a second language (and English) to a level that supports customers based in EMEA.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office and relevant tools for the role.
