Job Description

IOCP is a nonprofit that provides services in food, case management, emergency financial assistance, employment services, and childcare resources to those residing in eight Western Hennepin County cities. We are looking for an Emergency Financial Assistance Case Manager to play a key role in working with our clients to fulfill financial assistance requests in the areas of rent, utilities, and transportation.

Emergency Financial Assistance Case Managers work 1:1 with IOCP clients to provide short-term assistance to resolve financial emergencies and provide resources and referrals to address long-term financial stability. What You Will Do
  1. Receive client requests for financial assistance and support clients to complete the emergency assistance process
  2. Connect clients to all available sources of financial assistance in the community
  3. Work with clients to complete required tasks such as household budgets and collecting documentation
  4. Manage varied processes required by multiple funding streams and interpret those processes for clients
  5. Provide resources and education on financial literacy including budgeting, financial management, credit counseling resources, etc.
  6. Assess client needs
  7. Provide information, referrals, and connections to resources
  8. Make internal referrals to case management, employment services, or others as appropriate
  9. Ensure thorough and accurate client data entered to ClientTrack
What You Will Bring
  1. A minimum of an AA degree in related field
  2. Exceptional computer skills
  3. Experience working in a human services setting
  4. Understanding of the role of equity and inclusion in a human service setting and an ability to work effectively in a diverse setting
  5. Understanding of the needs and experiences of families experiencing poverty
  6. Ability to maintain professional boundaries
  7. Ability to maintain a steady, calm approach to work during busy times
  8. Good de-escalation skills
  9. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  10. Commitment to the mission and vision of Interfaith Outreach
  11. Case management experience and bilingual skills a bonus!
