The Role:As a Quality and Training Manager, you can make your own powerful contribution to people across Westminster. You'll provide effective leadership to a team of specialists, evaluating a caseload that covers a full range of developments and complex schemes. You'll provide high-level, expert professional and technical advice to colleagues, partner agencies and managers, acting as a source of guidance and expertise.
Through managing specialist or technical assessments and activities, you'll successfully deliver the Building Control function throughout the Council's jurisdiction, ensuring buildings comply with health, safety, sustainability, energy, conservation, accessibility, and design standards.
You'll routinely review training, competency and licensing to ensure your team are qualified for the work they are undertaking, alongside conducting technical audits and assessments with surveyors. Collaborating with a wide range of external educational and government organisations, you'll advance building control training, all whilst developing and maintaining excellent working relationships.
Most importantly, you'll be a motivating, empathetic and supportive leader to your team, providing them with the expert level guidance they need to protect communities and residents across Westminster.
An established professional with significant experience at senior level in building control and associated Regulations, you'll have a minimum of 5 years of building control experience, or comparable industry experience.
In past roles, you'll have presented CPD and training, and will have developed, managed, and mentored a variety of staff and technical specialists. You'll likely have significant experience at senior level in a specialist field, and have liaised with the widest range of stakeholders, customers and clients.
On a personal level, you'll have excellent attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to take a pragmatic and creative approach to problem solving. You'll be organised, logical and ambitious, capable of motivating and inspiring your team.
