Job descriptionExeter Innovation
Summary of the role:
We are seeking an Engagement Manager to develop and manage the external relationships that ensure the success and reach of the Developing Business Aware Academics (DBAA) project.
The Project is a £5m Research England-funded initiative () based at the University of Exeter Business School. It is conducted in collaboration with the Chartered Association of Business Schools and a network of academic, business, policy, and non-profit partners to build an evidence-led programme of training and networking to empower academic researchers in the early stages of their careers, and across all disciplines, with the skills, mindsets and opportunities to engage beyond academia.
Together with an existing Engagement Manager, the successful applicant will manage a portfolio of established and potential partners, including academic, industry and non-profit organisations. They will work collaboratively with academic and other professional services members of the DBAA project team to deliver our workstreams, focusing on partnership management, communications, collation of case studies, event organisation, and supporting the delivery of provision to doctoral and early-career researchers. The role-holder should have the confidence to effectively represent the project externally, drawing on experience of working with academics to develop and publicise new training and networking initiatives and/or supporting them with research impact activity.
The new Engagement Manager will be managed by the Developing Business-Aware Academics Senior Project Manager, as part of the Exeter Innovation Business School Partnerships and Programmes team.
This is a full-time or part-time, fixed-term post that will finish when the project ends in June 2027. The post will be based in Exeter on a hybrid contract. We are happy to consider requests for secondments.
Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
