The Store Operations domain deals with huge amounts of operational data supporting our retail business. This role will ensure seamless data flow between systems, applications, and platforms, enabling accurate and timely data availability for business operations and decision-making, having significant opportunity to shape the team.
What you'll do
- Lead a multi-skilled engineering team to deliver innovative and high-performing solutions that create value and drive efficiency for our business.
- Oversee change and run activities while owning the entire technology lifecycle, including service management.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive data integration strategy aligned with business goals.
- Identify opportunities to streamline data processes and improve data accessibility across the domain.
- Enforce data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
- Work closely with the central data team, data science, and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective integration solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend data integration tools, platforms, and technologies to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in data integration.
- Recruit and retain a talented team, mentoring and coaching colleagues.
- Contribute to defining the technical direction and vision, advocating and embedding agile/lean delivery methodologies.
- Manage people and product financial data, meeting targets, providing accurate reporting, and seeking value realisation opportunities.
- Lead by example and inspire your team, continuously striving for improvement and delivering impactful solutions.
Who you are
- An experienced and passionate leader with a deep understanding of the critical role that data plays in a retailer's success.
- Understanding of ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS) and data integration platforms.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with API integration, middleware, and cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Ability to drive the delivery of innovative solutions that create value, increase efficiency, and enhance business performance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
- Experience in adopting agile/lean delivery methodologies.
- Hands-on experience in languages, tools, and infrastructure.
- Attention to detail, strategic mindset, and financial acumen to manage budgets and optimise value realisation.
