Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid)
Rate: £700-£750 per day (Inside IR35)
Duration: 6-month initial contract

Are you an experienced Enterprise GIS Architect looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a contractor to take on a leading role in shaping the GIS architecture strategy for a major organisation, ensuring alignment with business and IT objectives.

Role Overview:

As an Enterprise GIS Architect, you will define and uphold the GIS architecture, ensuring it supports business strategy and aligns with company policies and roadmaps. You'll provide technical leadership, work with key stakeholders, and oversee architectural governance for GIS projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define current and future-state GIS architecture, developing transition roadmaps.
• Establish IT principles, governance models, and data policies.
• Lead architectural reviews and ensure compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with business and IT teams to shape the GIS strategy and roadmap.
• Evaluate internal systems and processes, driving continuous improvement.
• Ensure third-party GIS solutions align with architectural principles.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Extensive experience in telecommunications or utilities.
• Strong background in system integration projects.
• Expertise in Physical Network Inventory (PNI), Smallworld GIS, and Enterprise Application Integration.
• Deep understanding of GIS data modelling, including relational, taxonomical, and ontological approaches.
• Ability to define and articulate complex architectures to non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of cloud-based environments (AWS preferred).
• Experience with agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
• Familiarity with ITIL, TOGAF, BPMN, UML.

Bonus Skills:

• Software development experience (Magik, Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
• Knowledge of GPON networks architecture.
• Experience with Enterprise Architecture tools like Sparx or BiZZDesign.
