We are looking for someone who is confident in working with a wide range of people. Someone who can demonstrate a range of skills including community engagement and co-production, project and culture change management, communications and marketing, identifying and creating evidence based innovations and best practice in health services, training development and delivery, web and intranet page design and maintenance, someone who can contribute to strategy and policy development, analyse data and build strong networks for change.

Main duties of the jobThe EDI - Health Inequalities Lead will work with the EDI team and leads across the Trust and wider partnership groups to ensure that the Trust is meeting all the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 and the Statutory Duties relating to tackling Health Inequalities.
The post holder will support various programmes which contribute to the delivery of the Trust's EDI Strategy, State of Inequalities Plan and the Patient Carer Race Equalities Framework (PCREF), Equality Delivery System Domain 1.
These programmes aim to improve access, patient experience and the outcomes of people living with mental health and long-term conditions in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey whilst reducing health inequalities. It will include action to reduce disparities in restrictive practice, the occurrence of long-term conditions and multi-morbidity and optimise outcomes, prevent complications.
This role involves working with divisions and local communities to understand the population being provided for, identify any gaps in relation to access to services and implement actions to address these.
The post holder will monitor and respond to trends related to inequality in service provision in terms of access, experience and outcomes.
The post holder will take day to day responsibility for key work-streams that support the delivery of safe, compassionate care with positive patient experience at the heart of the care delivery.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that falls under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
Job responsibilitiesLiaising closely with the Associate Director of EDI and the EDI team, develop and support specific pieces of work that identify and reduce health inequalities for example the State of Inequalities plan, Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework and Domain 1 of the Equality Delivery System.
The post holder will be expected to produce information and communication including correspondence, reports (Board, Committee, other), presentations, data and other corporate information in a prompt and professional way which meets the highest standards of accuracy, reliability and readability tailored to the audience receiving the information.
Build and maintain good relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff across service lines and departments.
Identify, share and spread good practice within the Trust and across the partnership through, for example, lunch and learn sessions, case study development, learning events and showcasing excellence.
To write and present reports with complex information to relevant groups including the public, patients and carers in an appropriate, clear and concise manner. Communicate community related information at a range of meetings, forums and other appropriate committees.

Person Specification Qualifications- Education to graduate level, or equivalent level of qualification gained through knowledge or experience.
- EDI or Health Inequalities related training.
- Current/previous experience of health inequalities/community engagement.
- Managing projects/activities action plans and reports.
- Knowledge of equality and health inequalities legislation. Knowledge of the Patient and Carer Race Inequalities Framework.
- Ability to develop trusting relationships with a diverse range of colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
