Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a MiFID II Compliance Specialist for a 6-month contract based in London on a hybrid basis. The expectation is office attendance as needed to meet with stakeholders.

Purpose of the Role:

The purpose of this role is to support our client in complying with the Regulatory Technical Standard (RTS) 6 of MiFID II by assisting with the annual self-assessment process and validation report. The role will focus on delivering and coordinating remediation activities to close gaps identified by the second line of defense (2LoD) and Internal Audit for the 2023 and 2024 Annual Self-Assessments (ASA), ensuring compliance with Article 17 of MiFID II.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Assist in reviewing weaknesses and gaps identified by the 2nd Line of Defence and Internal Audit teams.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across the algorithmic trading business to remediate and update necessary documentation and artefacts.
  • Facilitate meetings with relevant stakeholders to gather documentation, evidence, and attain sign-offs.
  • Document and update compliance and regulatory summaries across internal Confluence pages.
  • Analyse processes to identify opportunities for improvement in methodologies and documentation.
  • Support other MiFID II-related activities as required.

What we require from the candidate:

  • Demonstrated experience working on remediation activities within a regulatory setting for a financial institution or consultancy.
  • Extensive knowledge of MiFID II Regulatory Technical Standard (RTS) 6 objectives and obligations for the algorithmic trading business.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including preparing briefing materials for senior management.
