About Hanbury Strategy

We turn insight into impact. Whether you face a communications challenge or have a policy goal, our exceptional team uses our understanding of public opinion, the press and politics to create campaigns that work. We have a relentless focus on achieving great results for our clients.

The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic new recruit to join Hanbury Strategy's Media Monitoring Unit! This is a permanent, full-time position with a specific focus on US client coverage.

Responsibilities will include:

  1. Producing high-quality products for our clients on a daily basis.
  2. Monitoring across print, broadcast, social, and online, including both media and political sources.
  3. Being a key member of Hanbury's Media Monitoring Unit.

You will:

  1. Have a genuine interest in public relations, communications, and politics.
  2. Have a particular interest in US politics and media.
  3. Be a news junky!
  4. Be a proactive 'self-starter': someone who takes the initiative to volunteer for tasks, is energetic in making the most of the opportunity, and offers ideas at meetings.
  5. Want to learn new things.
  6. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Be organised and have good time management: you can juggle different activities, understanding what needs to be prioritised, and will flag if deadlines won't be met.
  8. Show attention to detail: you consistently ensure that you review your pieces of work and submit to a good standard even when things are busy.
  9. Have the ability to work well within teams.
  10. Have a strong work ethic.

Who's eligible

  1. Anybody over the age of 18.
  2. A degree is not required.
  3. We are particularly interested in candidates who have lived, studied, or worked in other markets, especially the US, but this is not a requirement.

Things to consider

You will be required to work flexible hours to meet the needs of clients (including US-based clients). This will require you to work 11:00 am - 20:00 with an hour for lunch.

Benefits offered

  1. 28 days' paid leave plus bank holidays and additional time off over Christmas.
  2. Pension plan - 4% company contribution (from month three).
  3. Annual discretionary bonus scheme.
  4. New offices in London Bridge - we are a hybrid working company.
  5. Cycle to work scheme and season ticket loan.
  6. Work from abroad policy for up to 20 days a year.
  7. The opportunity to opt in to Vitality including private health care and subsidised gym.
  8. Access to a full social and cultural calendar and employee wellness programmes.
  9. A rich and diverse people development programme including fortnightly internal training sessions and a full annual programme of external trainers and inspirational speakers.
