Job Description

Life at Bloomberg is many things, but it's never dull. We're a truly global business with a truly diverse workforce. We pride ourselves on being open, inclusive and collaborative, and provide a work environment that inspires our employees to be their best. We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive healthcare coverage, and programs to support you and your family through different life stages, from parental leave to generous retirement savings plans.

Bloomberg Media is expanding its Weekend Edition offerings and looking for an experienced Executive Producer to develop and lead a new flagship show hosted by Mishal Husain. The show will explore the intersections of global business, politics, life and culture and extend across Bloomberg's podcast, digital, video and event platforms.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead creative development and ongoing production for a new flagship show (or slate of shows) for Bloomberg's Weekend Edition, hosted by Mishal Husain.
  2. Help bring in high-profile, globally relevant and fascinating interview guests for wide-ranging and surprising conversations, working alongside the host and our central booking team.
  3. Direct a production team working on episodes day-to-day: provide notes and direction on everything from guest and show ideas to fact checking, episode assembly and sound design.
  4. Ensure that the show is truly global in perspective and editorially and strategically aligned with Bloomberg's Weekend Edition, liaising with editors on print/digital elements such as edited Q and As and essays.
  5. Work with audio, video and text components, collaborating with diverse teams within Bloomberg, including events, and ensuring social media presence.
  6. Advise on studio and production best practices and workflows.
  7. Communicate on upcoming programming across the newsroom and work closely on distribution plans across all media platforms.
Qualifications:
  1. Extensive experience working in a newsroom environment on projects with rigorous journalistic ethics.
  2. Excellent business, political and cultural news judgement and a sharp editorial ear.
  3. Experience with field, remote and in-studio production.
  4. Experience working and collaborating across media platforms (some combination of podcast, video, broadcast, print/digital).
  5. Experience working internationally - and producing for a global audience - is preferred.
  6. Experience launching a new series successfully in a crowded media landscape would be ideal.
