Job Description

Role: Manager - Life Actuarial Consulting
Location: London, Hybrid Working Available
Salary: Competitive Salary Package & Benefits

A leading global consultancy is seeking experienced and high-performing actuaries to join its award-winning Life Actuarial team. The role offers the opportunity to work across a broad spectrum of clients-including life insurers, reinsurers, asset managers, and start-ups-on a diverse range of projects, from regulatory change and M&A to transformation, technology, and investment strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the delivery of key client projects across traditional and emerging actuarial areas.

  • Lead on operational metrics including resourcing, budgeting, scoping, and delivery.

  • Guide and coach junior team members while contributing to a strong team culture.

  • Provide insights and commercial solutions tailored to client needs.

  • Drive innovation and contribute to the development of tools, methodologies, and internal capabilities.

  • Collaborate across disciplines and geographies to deliver multi-functional engagements.

  • Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities to grow accounts and service offerings.

Experience Required:
  • Fellowship of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA), or equivalent recognised qualification.

  • Proven success in the life insurance industry, either in-house or through a top-tier consultancy.

  • Technical expertise across a broad range of actuarial disciplines such as:

    • Reporting and audit support

    • M&A due diligence (buy- and sell-side)

    • Capital and regulatory change

    • Part VII transfers and expert witness work

    • IFRS17 and actuarial transformation

    • Data analytics, automation, and AI

    • Investment strategy support for insurers

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
