Family Practitioner/Social Worker
Posted 1 day 3 hours ago by Southampton City Council
Building Bridges is a well-established service, with a committed and successful team who work determinedly and skilfully with the aim of creating stability and enabling more children to live within their families.
Building Bridges is at the forefront of delivering the council's 'Building for Brilliance' strategy including key priorities such as:
- Maintaining children aged 7-13 within their families.
- Increasing placement stability within internal foster placements or kinship carers.
- Supporting reunifications for children living in residential care.
- Enhancing Intensive Surveillance and Support packages (ISS) - Youth Justice.
- Supporting Edge of Care work across Children's Services.
About you:
We are looking for a Family Practitioner (Grade 8) OR a Social Worker (Grade 9) with experience in either or both Children's and Adult's Social Care for a 12-month fixed-term contract. Building Bridges uses the following models - NVR (Non-Violent Resistance), PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy) and DDP (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy) and therefore experience in these ways of working would be advantageous although not essential.
In Southampton, there is a high level of complex issues across the city and this area of work has high levels of demand. The city's families and young people therefore need a skilled and dedicated workforce within the Building Bridges Service; practitioners who are quick in finding solutions to complex difficulties, as well as those who are calm, containing and positive. We would like you to be that person who can give young people, families and colleagues hope and aspiration.
Are you this inspirational and motivational person? Are you an experienced Family Practitioner? If you are, why don't you join the Southampton family?
The Southampton family are systemic and will train you in systemic practice. We are proud of our practice development offer - it is one of the best in the country. Like the best families we are supportive, restorative and flexible.
