Title: Finance Manager

Location: London Liverpool St

Salary: Competitive

Hybrid: 3 days in office/2 from home

Ryder Reid Legal is seeking a Finance Manager to join one of our prestigious, global law firm clients at their London office. This role is responsible for the daily operations of the London Accounting team, overseeing general ledger, accounts payable, cash receipts, payroll, and local tax filings. You will lead a team of four and develop effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of staff consisting of a Supervisor, Specialists and an Assistant.
  • Review team capabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Develop relationships with the Global Controller, CFO, and other Firm Leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting and tax rules and global policies.
  • Review bank account and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Manage Client Accounts and oversee the SRA Accounts Rules Audit.
  • Oversee payroll, vendor, and expense payment processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate execution of payments and cash receipts.
  • Monitor fixed assets and work in progress.
  • Supervise tax and VAT returns.
  • Document best-practice accounting processes.
  • Analyse financial information and prepare the annual budget.
  • Participate in Aderant systems enhancements and upgrades.
  • Oversee specific projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • 5-7 years of managerial experience in a law firm.
  • Broad financial experience, including multinational team work.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge and ERP experience (Aderant a plus).
  • Ability to mentor team members and implement procedural improvements.
