Job Description

An opening for a Finance Manager managing a small team has arisen with an established growing business. You will play a key role reporting to the CFO and supporting Business Leads. You will ideally be fully qualified with experience of managing teams and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Overview job description:

Providing accurate and timely financial and management information for the business in the UK/USA/Australia. Providing monthly consolidation information to the Group, for internal management and externally. Fundamental to the role is the support to the Business Leads of each location and ensuring the integrity of all information produced, applying best practice for all processes and procedures.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Managing accounting functions and preparing reports and statistics.
  • Managing the Treasury Centre in the UK, to manage international cash pooling.
  • Partnering with Operations Management to support corporate objectives and drive financial/operational targets.
  • Planning, organising and directing all the activities of the cost accounting function.
  • Coordinating the monthly closing activities.
  • Proactive analysis of variances for operations management.
  • Ensuring financial results are reported accurately and timely.
  • Coordinating the preparation of monthly revenue.
  • Coordinating monthly close of the general ledger and monthly journal entries.
  • Reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and completion of monthly checklist, ensuring compliance with group accounting procedures.
  • Updating and loading the monthly reporting packs within the required timeframe.
  • Preparing supplementary data submitted to Group Finance for consolidation.
  • Preparing monthly management account packs for submission to the business leads for discussion. Variance analysis of actual results to previously submitted forecast.
  • Supporting the quarterly forecast review process.
  • Coordinating annual budgets in conjunction with the business leads and Managing Director.
  • Providing information and respond to queries from the external auditors on a timely basis to ensure reporting within group deadlines.
  • Providing information and respond to queries from the Tax Advisors.
  • Providing disclosure information for inclusion in both the UK GAAP, US GAAP and SGD GAAP statutory accounts.

Applicants to this role require:

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • CA/ACCA/CIMA qualification.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of compliance.
  • Working knowledge of UK GAAP.
  • Experience working in ERP systems.
  • Demonstrates an approachable, professional demeanour.
  • Good organisational and planning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Flexible attitude.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
