What we are recruiting for:

The role of the Finance Manager is to work closely with business units to understand the main financial drivers of the business, both forecast and actual. They will ensure accurate financial and management reporting as well as produce insights and analysis to leadership teams. Initially, the Finance Manager will work closely with our offshore partners including communicating deliverables and reviewing outputs while we bring the finance function back onshore.

  1. Ensure accurate reporting of forecast and actuals at month and year-ends, working closely between business partners and the offshore accounting team.
  2. Produce concise analysis and reports which give insight into business performance for various stakeholders including the Managing Director and CFO.
  3. Identify & understand financial and non-financial risk and opportunity across the Business.
  4. Commercial awareness, understanding and anticipating the needs of both operations and management.
  5. Partner with non-finance teams to communicate with and explain financial concepts and be able to influence key decision makers and to think long-term.
  6. Drive accuracy in monthly reporting e.g. cash flow, profit & loss, and cost forecasting.
  7. Integral role in preparation of business plan. Responsibilities include; 5 year forecast of financial data, overheads, challenging key assumptions, and scenario analysis.
  8. Drive improvement and optimisation of the Business Unit controls framework, management reporting, and commercial reporting processes.
  9. Oversee financial transactions and accounting positions at project level, as appropriate.
  10. Ensure implementation policies, procedures, accounting standards and financial controls, and control processes.
  11. Partner with stakeholders across functions, finance services, and project teams.
  12. Support business improvement initiatives across Finance.
  13. Provide direction and guidance to offshore team.
Experience & background:
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA or equivalent) with 2-5 years post qualification experience.
  • Proficient in all areas of Microsoft Office, particular strength in Excel.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to work with competing deadlines.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business or Commerce with a major or sub major in Accounting and/or Finance.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work through complex issues and guide others in the resolution of problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation.
  • High attention to detail and passionate about delivering quality work.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience either working in or working with private equity companies from a financial reporting aspect would be highly advantageous.
