Job Description

The opportunity

Note that while we've listed this role as London, we are open to other locations in the UK.

As a Financial Analyst at Standard Ledger, you will play a vital role in crafting detailed financial models for our diverse clientele, focusing on startups and high-growth businesses across the UK. Your expertise will enable clients to make informed decisions through data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify data opportunities with clients
  • Collaborate with clients and suppliers to extract necessary data
  • Conduct meetings and present findings to clients as part of the virtual CFO team
  • Develop financial analysis and modeling tools to facilitate decision making
  • Consolidate group budgets and forecasts, preparing detailed annual budgets and rolling reforecast models
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting across various regions including Australia, North America, UK, EU, and Asia
  • Enhance the annual budgeting model for P&L, cash-flow, and balance sheet forecasting
  • Assist with product costing and margin analysis
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis and conduct commercial analysis such as customer/region profitability
  • Support revenue enhancement opportunities through inventory analysis and trends
  • Facilitate the establishment of accounting functions for new markets
  • Provide insights for new business development and strategic decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Business, Finance, Management Engineering, Economics or a related field
  • Licensed CPA, CA, ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, CIMA, or IFA (required)
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial statement analysis and financial modeling
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on business controlling (financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting)
  • Experience in consulting or advisory is a plus
  • Proficient in analytics, modeling, and simulation
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage
  • Understanding of multi-currency and multi-entity structures, including inter-company transactions is beneficial
