The RoleThe post holder will be responsible for supporting the Deputy Financial Controller and Financial Services Supervisor in providing innovative and efficient customer focused transactional processing services, whilst maintaining a strong control environment.
The post holder will work closely within the Financial Services Team and key stakeholders to deliver the University's and department's strategy.
As directed by the Deputy Financial Controller or the Financial Services Supervisor, the Financial Services Assistant will be involved in delivering efficient customer focused services in the following areas:
- Processing AP invoices & payment requests to meet the weekly University of London Payment run.
- Assist in Account Receivable processes such as the allocation of income.
- Answering stakeholder queries within the various mailboxes of Financial Services such as E-Invoice, Payments and Credit Control.
- Assist the Deputy Financial Controller in completing business critical projects through being involved in system's testing.
- Assist the Financial Services team answering audit queries during the Year-End cycle.
- Posting journals, which reflect income collected through the SITS system of the University of London.
- Assisting the Financial services team in process improvements.
- To pro-actively maintain their own continual professional development by engaging with an accountancy qualification such as AAT, ACCA, ICAEW and CIMA.
- To actively follow and promote the University of London policies, including the University's Dignity at Work and Equal Opportunities Policy and actively promote these wherever possible.
- To maintain an awareness and observation of fire and health and safety regulations.
- Any other duties, consistent with the grade and scope of the post, reasonably required of the post holder by the reporting line manager.

The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working remotely and in the office. Typically, the majority of employees will be able to agree to work remotely for up to 60% of their working week, role dependent, however will be required to attend on specific days for training or team meetings.
