We have a large and diverse portfolio of property including listed buildings, scheduled monuments, educational buildings, and leisure facilities.
Join us to bring innovative solutions to enable the delivery of sustainable high-quality projects and maintenance across the estate and manage budgets and programmes. You'll be key to achieving our goal of providing well-maintained, compliant buildings across the estate.
This is a full-time, permanent post working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday. On occasion, you may be required to work evenings to attend meetings or site visits. Based at City Hall, you'll have the flexibility to work from home or on-site. However, you'll be required to travel to construction locations in and around Leicestershire.
What you'll be doing
Working as part of the Hard FM Maintenance team, you'll provide technical advice, support, and management of electrical systems across the property portfolio. Identifying opportunities for innovation in relation to sustainability, you'll be designing and implementing systems of maintenance, monitoring, and testing for the management of electrical services across the property asset list. You'll lead on electrical construction projects that differ in size and complexity for our internal and external clients. Liaising with stakeholders including internal colleagues, clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies, you'll oversee projects from inception through to completion, handover, and associated ongoing maintenance, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
What you'll need
You'll have substantial experience in both the installation and maintenance of commercial electrical systems, life safety systems, security systems, door entry, and intercom systems. You'll have substantial experience managing maintenance programmes that deliver the highest standards in terms of time, cost, and quality. With excellent people skills, you'll be able to present to and engage with a variety of audiences, persuading and motivating others to meet objectives, including having the confidence to challenge performance when needed. You'll have the drive and ambition to research modern technologies within your specialist area. You'll be able to monitor outcome and input-based specifications including KPI data validation. Using strong analytical skills, you'll be able to review costings, and together with your detailed technical knowledge of Hard FM legislation, deliver best practice.
Ideally, you'll have completed both a full electrical apprenticeship and hold C&G 236 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent and C&G 2391 or equivalent advanced inspection and testing.
It is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence and are willing and able to travel frequently between locations transporting necessary equipment.
What we can offer you
As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve thousands of lives across Leicester, you can look forward to a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance. You'll enjoy generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, and the option of flexible working.
