The Vacancy
Wates Group is seeking a Finance Analyst (FP&A) to join our Financial Planning and Analysis team within Wates Residential. As a developer-contractor, Wates Residential invests, develops, builds, and sells quality affordable homes through contracting and partnerships with Local Authorities, Housing Associations, and public bodies such as Homes England.
The Finance Analyst will support the FP&A Manager in the provision of financial modelling services within Wates Residential, liaising with internal stakeholders to source data, updating inputs to the models, reviewing financials, and presenting output.
The financial models are created at the bid stage and be consistently maintained and updated throughout construction, through to completion and then through the sales phase until the final units are sold and profits distributed.
As our Finance Analyst (FP&A), you will:
- Own & update the viability models of development projects in conjunction with the FP&A Manager and multiple stakeholders across Finance, Development, Operations and Commercial, with a view to improving models where necessary.
- Collate information from project teams to routinely update the viability models for ongoing projects. Monitor and track actual and forecast Joint Venture performance.
- Calculate and provide financial analysis internally and for clients/customers, including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Monitor and track comparative performance of projects and identify opportunities for efficiency.
- Support the wider WR finance team as required during year-end close and quarterly reforecasts.
What we are looking for:
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ICAS) with experience in financial modelling.
- Strong IT skills, especially Excel.
