Job Introduction

Working within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function within BBC Finance, we are recruiting for a FP&A Analyst to provide financial planning through the preparation of robust end-to-end short-to-mid-term Divisional budgets and forecasts.

The FP&A Analysts will work in partnership with the Finance Partnering teams, playing a crucial role in the delivery of local business support coupled with the provision of meaningful and enhanced financial analysis to drive business decision making and support problem solving.

The FP&A Analyst will play a key role in supporting Divisional and pan-BBC continuous improvement initiatives across Finance activities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Working closely with budget holders and Finance Partnering teams to provide business advice which supports business performance and insightful decision making. Support the business with problem solving activities.
  • Identification of risks and opportunities within their respective business area on a timely basis.
  • Combine working with non-Finance stakeholders and using available data sources to leverage insight in preparing Divisional forecasts/budgets.
  • Oversee and provide support for any self-serve budget/forecast activity within the Division, ensuring deadlines are adhered to and submissions are robust.
  • Providing insightful budget and forecasting commentary, including articulate variance analysis, for all stakeholders.
  • Lead contact for Divisional EFT analysis and reporting.
  • Key contact for finance related business queries relating to a BBC Division.
  • Support cross team collaboration with wider finance function (Group Finance, Finance operations and BPO provider).
  • Preparing standard management reporting packs using preferred technology solution.
  • Support the Senior FP&A Analyst with Divisional Corporate information requests and submissions.
  • Overseeing the work and supporting talent development of the FP&A Associate Analyst where required.
Are you the right candidate?
  • Have a professional accounting accreditation e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Experience of delivering a high-quality FP&A service.
  • Excellent FP&A process skills, having experience of delivering routine FP&A processes.
  • Analytically minded with commercial expertise. Possess strong inquisitive skills to understand and challenge the drivers behind the financials.
  • Ability to perform variance analysis from large/complex data sets, including financial and non-financial, and the ability to articulate the results to both Finance and non-Finance teams.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams across both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience of using financial software in data analysis.
  • Able to work with the wider FP&A and Finance Partnering teams to identify process improvements, drive standardisation and automation opportunities.
