Job Description

For a utilities customer in Brussels, I am searching for a freelance Linux System Engineer to help optimize performance and ensure the resilience of their infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux servers and related infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
Perform system administration tasks, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning, to maintain a stable and efficient environment.
Implement and manage automation tools such as Ansible to streamline system provisioning and configuration management.
Enhance system security by applying best practices, security controls, and proactive threat mitigation measures.
Manage and optimize an in-house Kubernetes cluster for container orchestration and workload scalability.
Oversee and fine-tune on-premises environments running CentOS and RedHat to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Develop and maintain shell scripts and automation scripts to simplify and improve system management processes.
Collaborate closely with development and operations teams to enhance system reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
Implement and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
Stay ahead of industry trends by continuously learning and applying the latest best practices and emerging technologies.
