With a hands-on culture and close proximity to its clients, Sogeti is currently looking for a Functional Tester to join our Quality Engineering and Test Practice, ensuring alignment with business goals and driving impactful value creation for our clients.
Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service)
- Develop and execute comprehensive functional test plans and test cases to ensure software meets required standards.
- Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools, supporting both System Test and UAT.
- Collaborate with senior project stakeholders, including running demonstrations of developed functionality during Show and Tells and supporting UAT with their testing.
- Participate in agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and elaborations.
- Navigate and interpret technical documentation and requirements to inform testing strategies.
- UK national with a British passport
- Based in Treforest Wales/ Bristol, commutable to Cardiff.
- Strong proficiency in writing SQL queries and managing data.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence (or similar story management tools).
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and ceremonies.
- Ability to work closely with senior stakeholders and present technical information confidently.
- Familiarity with Bitbucket for reading and understanding code commits.
- Basic understanding of HTML.
- Basic experience with Java or Groovy.
- Basic understanding of Git for automation testing purposes.
- Familiarity with Splunk or Lens for logging.
