Reporting to the Vice President of operations for the Biologics segment, the General Manager (the "GM") will play a leading role in shaping the operational, financial, and strategic performance of the Limoges organization.
She/He leads the Catalent Limoges Senior Leadership team with Operations, Technical Services, Supply Chain, EHS, site Security, and Continuous Improvement reporting directly, while all supporting functions such as Finance, HR, PM PD, Commercial Operations, Procurement, and IT will be dotted line reports to the GM.
The GM will hold important relations with the functional leaders in the Biologics network, with the Business Development teams as well as with Peers to assure tight collaboration between different business segments.
The Role- Is responsible for the site EHS, P&L, quality, compliance, operational execution, and administration of the Catalent Limoges business in Limoges.
- Is responsible for ensuring that business operations are efficient and effective and that the proper management of resources, distribution of goods and services to customers, and analysis of queue systems is conducted to meet customer demand and to support the business strategies and P&L objectives.
- Direct the development, growth and ongoing profitability of the site.
- Work with the BU and functional leaders at global and local level, in the development of the annual revenue plan and working budget for the site: Establish budgets, tracks financial performances and ensures they are within budget.
- Planning by prioritizing customer, employee, and organizational requirements.
- Establish and build, in collaboration with BD and commercial teams, effective liaisons/relationships at appropriate levels with customers.
- Ensure future growth of the site through an active involvement with Business Development in developing a pipeline of products/services and executing on growth projects.
- Developing and cascading the organization's strategy/mission statement to the site, and implementing appropriate rewards/recognition and coaching/corrective practices to align personnel with company goals.
- Maintaining and monitoring staffing, levels, Knowledge-Skills- Attributes, expectations and motivation to fulfill organizational requirements.
- Maintaining the plant at the required level to produce in cGMP conditions.
- Ensures operational documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental policies and regulations.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the effective use of Operational Excellence tools and approaches.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Higher degree in science (Biology, Engineering, Pharmacy, Chemistry, etc.), PhD or MSc or relevant experience in a similar position in the sector of biotech/Pharma/cell therapy.
- Experience in a cGMP biopharmaceutical environment in an international organization is preferred, a CMO being ideal.
- More than 15 years' experience, preferably in a similar position.
- The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of driving successful change utilizing advanced lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Good technical skills to understand manufacturing processes, including basic knowledge of engineering, chemistry, and microbiology principles and practices.
- Ability to drive results and work effectively in a lean environment & understands what is needed to be in a competitive leadership position.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Fluency in English & French.
- Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.
