General Practitioner - The Llwynhendy Health Centre

Our Practice is a welcoming and supportive environment where patient care is at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for a 2-6 session Salaried GP to join our expanding team. If you're seeking a rewarding role in a friendly and dynamic practice, we'd love to hear from you.

We are a training practice for GP registrars and FY2 doctors, with a list size of approximately 11,500 patients. Our team currently includes: 4 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 2 Pharmacists, 4 Nurses, 1 Physician Associate, and 1 Healthcare Assistant.

Main duties of the job

The duties of the post are to provide a full range of general medical services which will include domiciliary visits as deemed appropriate. There is a requirement to be on call for clinically urgent and emergency problems in accordance with the associated job plan.

The post holder is expected to support the patients in providing all services outlined in the GMS Core Contract and also in the aims and objectives of the Practice.

The post holder is encouraged to utilise and develop any skills for the improvement of services to patients, such as minor operations, child health surveillance, and family planning training, if approved by Hywel Dda Health Board. This will be subject to presentation of the appropriate certificates and update of relevant courses.

The post holder is expected to maintain and keep good standards of computerised clinical records at all times. Full involvement in any practice training and ongoing requirements of our status as a paperless practice is expected.

About us

Located just outside Llanelli town centre, near Parc Y Scarlets stadium and Trostre retail park, our practice offers an easy commute from both Swansea and West Wales. We have recently migrated to the EMIS clinical system and use eConsult, allowing us to provide a mix of appointment types for clinician and patient convenience.

Job responsibilities

We are seeking an individual who is registered with the GMC and on the GP Specialty Register, with experience in primary or urgent care. The ideal candidate will be on the performers list and able to demonstrate excellent communication skills across all levels of the business. Strong organisational skills are essential, along with a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Person Specification Qualifications

• Fully Qualified GP eligible to work in General Practice in the NHS.
• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Specialist interests and skills.

Experience

• Experience in primary care.
• Desire to develop an area of clinical interest.
