The role
We are currently looking for a Global Corporate Compliance Counsel to join our team in our office in Brussels, Belgium or Wroclaw, Poland. In this role you will be reporting to the Global Legal & Compliance Manager. Your focus will be to understand the ever-changing and challenging business and regulatory environment and advise IONWAY in a way so that we leverage the investment in our people and our technology in a compliant way.
You lead IONWAY in developing, implementing, evaluating, maintaining, and improving an effective and responsive compliance management system and work closely with various departments to foster a culture of compliance and integrity.
Responsibilities:
- Implement a Compliance Management System, which adheres to industry standards, including all relevant policies and processes
- Implement compliance policies (anti-bribery and anti-corruption, sourcing and procurement policy, trade sanctions policy and antitrust policy)
- Establish procedures for a risk-based compliance due diligence on third parties and third party intermediaries
- Advise management in regards to requirements for acting compliant and ethical
- Analyze internal business systems to ensure compliance with industry regulations, law and ethical standards
- Perform regular reviews of business procedures and processes to ensure compliance
- Design methods for reporting and dealing with compliance breaches and ethical issues when they occur
- Produce reports on any regulatory changes and advise the leadership team on how new laws might impact current operations or future business prospects
- Establish a whistleblower system as well as an investigation and sanction process
- Design and roll-out compliance training programs for IONWAY employees and contractors
- Foster and promote a Compliance Culture through communication and awareness concepts
- Contribute to the provision of a safe and healthy workplace
Requirements:
- 5 -10 years of relevant experience in a corporate compliance or relevant audit function
- Master's degree in law or business management. Additional certifications in the field of compliance are a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
- Experience in implementing compliance programs and tools
- Strong organizational, communication and conflict management skills
- Ability to connect with internal and external stakeholders in a positive and efficient way
- Outstanding drafting skills
- Fluent in English - both written and spoken, and legal terminology
- Understanding and knowledge financial terms & concepts
- Critical & analytical thinking skills
