GP Partner

Working autonomously, you will provide high-quality patient care, uphold GMC standards, and ensure compliance with the GP contract. Main duties of the job

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality medical care to the practice population.
• Prescribe in line with national and local guidelines.
• Manage long-term conditions effectively.
• Handle administrative tasks, including referrals and repeat prescriptions.
• Participate in telephone triage and duty doctor roles on a rotational basis.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to best practices.
• Lead a specialist area of interest, e.g., dermatology.
• Contribute to practice management, including strategy, planning, and policy development.
• Implement best practices through clinical guidelines and audits.
• Complete the revalidation process.
• Support training of medical students.

General Partner Responsibilities:

• Provide services in line with the GP contract.
• Demonstrate leadership, ensuring an equitable distribution of workload.
• Drive continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
• Take delegated responsibility for QOF and other key areas.
• Attend and contribute to practice and regional meetings.
• Oversee governance, training, financial management, and HR.
• Ensure compliance with appraisals and professional development.
• Align with the practice's strategic aims, optimizing income and efficiency.
• Foster collaborative working and continuous improvement.

Additional Duties:

• Participate in practice audits and local healthcare initiatives.
• Review significant events using structured approaches like RCA.
• Drive the development of enhanced services, engaging with external agencies as needed.

Operational Responsibilities:

• Ensure adherence to QOF, LES/DES, and national targets.
• Implement policies and protocols to maintain high clinical and administrative standards.

• Lead or support significant event analysis and risk management.

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
• MRCGP qualification or equivalent.
• Inclusion on the NHS England performers list.
• Strong clinical expertise in primary care, with a commitment to patient-centred care.
• Leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience or willingness to develop business and financial acumen in partnership working.
