Graduate Water Sampling Consultant- Contract Role

My client, a specialist UK based Engineering and Environmental Consultancy, is searching for a Graduate Consultant to join a supportive team based in central Cardiff for a fixed term contract.

It is essential that applicants have a strong academic background including a MSc and/or BSc in Hydrology, Geography, Environmental Modelling or Hydraulic Modelling and ideally have a driving licence. You will be expected to have a keen interest in hydrology, hydrometry, GIS, hydraulic modelling and water quality.

Candidates are required to have a strong background in numeracy (preferably a strong A level or GCSE in Mathematics or Science) and an interest in data sampling and analysis. A driving licence is also beneficial as you will be expected to drive to sites to complete sampling.

As a Graduate Consultant you will join a specialist flood risk team in Cardiff for a fixed term contract of 6 to 9 months. During this time you will be expected to complete site work and reports including:

1. Water Quality Sampling on site.
2. Water monitoring, Hydrometry and Peat Surveys.
3. Flood Risk Assessments and Flood Consequence Assessments for Planning Applications.
4. Strategic Flood Risk Assessment for developers.
5. Flood Estimation using ReFH and Winfap.
6. Rainfall Analysis.
7. GIS Mapping.
