Job Description

Grade UE06: £34,132 - £39,355 per annum
Corporate Services Group / University Sport & Exercise
Full-time: 35 hours per week
Open Ended: Permanent

Are you an experienced grounds specialist with a passion for excellence in sports facility management? The University invites applications for the role of Grounds Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the maintenance and preparation of our outdoor sports facilities and playing surfaces, ensuring they meet the highest standards for a wide range of users.

The Opportunity:

As Grounds Manager, you'll apply advanced grounds management practices to support a variety of events and services across the University's sporting estate, while inspiring and managing a small, dedicated team to deliver outstanding results. This role offers the opportunity to champion innovation, developing and implementing new, efficient approaches to grounds management, and to promote sustainable, biodiversity-focused practices that enrich the campus environment and align with the University's ambitious sustainability goals.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Extensive experience in grounds management, particularly in sports pitch maintenance.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • A proactive and innovative mindset, with a focus on sustainability and biodiversity.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities to work effectively with diverse user groups and stakeholders.
