Job Description

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) is pleased to announce that an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Middle Management Team as a Group Manager (B). We are looking for a strong, dynamic and visible leader who will work with colleagues to shape and deliver plans that support the delivery of Council and Service strategies.

You will have leadership & management responsibility for Prevention, Protection and Safeguarding with accountability for the professional functions within your portfolio ensuring the efficient, effective and safe delivery of our services. Specific areas of responsibility include the statutory provision of Prevention, Protection (including Fire Investigation) & Safeguarding delivery across the Service, aligning with the relevant NFCC Fire Standards, championing equality, diversity & inclusion and leading on projects in line with the priorities of the Service and Cornwall Council. You will have experience of Fire Safety prosecution, enforcement and extensive knowledge current legislation and guidance.

Eligibility to apply:

This role is open to existing substantive Group and Station Managers.

Application Criteria:

You must ensure you:

  • Have an up-to-date Personal Development Review/PDR (internal candidates)
  • Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety (Essential)
  • Have a minimum current ICS L2 qualification
  • Have completed all relevant Mandatory Training (internal candidates)

Salary:

The salary reflects the NJC Group Manager B - flexi-duty (20% enhancement) Substantive.
