Great opportunity to join our team as a Health & Benefits Risk Consultant working hybrid within the risk and healthcare consulting team. In this role you will be responsible for advising our clients on all aspects of managing the health of their workforce, plus advising on and implementing risk and other health-related insurances, which are a key aspect of this service.
The team deals with all aspects of group insurance from market broking exercises to ongoing day-to-day administration and consulting of client arrangements, including enquiries in respect of renewals, funding, underwriting and benefits. In addition to private medical insurance and healthcare policies (dental, cash plan, optical, health screens, travel, PA and perks) and providers, the team covers registered and excepted group life assurance, death-in-service pensions, group income protection, critical illness, spouse/partner life assurance coverages and policies placed via the Lloyd's market.
The Role- Provide strategic consultative advice to clients around the design, delivery and ongoing management of their benefit programmes, working with other consultants within the team.
- Proactively update own knowledge of changes in legislation through talking to other associates and reading appropriate news briefs/publications. Apply this knowledge to day-to-day work.
- Manage providers for own client base using negotiation and influencing skills as appropriate.
- Servicing, consulting with and retaining existing clients with a high level of service and credibility.
- Plan and organise renewals.
- Design and redesign of benefits.
- Liaise with providers and insurers for information.
- Assist with re-broking exercises, analysis and verification of providers' contract terms.
- Deal with queries from clients.
- Maintain quality control procedures.
The Requirements:
- Risk benefits experience is essential and healthcare benefits would be advantageous from an advisory background.
- Comprehensive and up-to-date technical knowledge and practical experience in the areas of Employee Benefits.
- Excellent grounding in group risk and healthcare policies and providers (ideally supported by GR1 and/or IF7 qualifications).
- Good standard of written and oral communication.
- The ability to work with minimum supervision and within cross-disciplinary teams.
- Computer literacy of Microsoft Office software, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Able to learn quickly, use own initiative and organise own workload effectively.
- Able to work quickly, but accurately in a professional environment.
- An understanding and appreciation of broader employee health issues would be an advantage, as would experience of International coverage, wellbeing and technology platforms, all of which are key aspects to future progression.
