About Us

Based at the welcoming Muswell Hill Synagogue, our Cheder provides an engaging and meaningful Jewish education for children in school years 1-6. Meeting on Sunday mornings during term time, our programme offers a mix of excitement and structure, ensuring our students learn and grow in a fun and supportive environment.

Your Role

As Headteacher, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of Muswell Hill Cheder. Reporting to the Cheder Governors, you'll lead a committed team of teachers and assistants, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. You'll oversee curriculum development, inspire staff, and connect with the broader synagogue community to enhance the Cheder experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Team Management: Guide and support our teaching team, ensuring professional growth and positive outcomes for pupils.
2. Performance & Communication: Assess staff performance, liaise with synagogue leadership, and keep the community informed of progress.
3. Curriculum Development: Design and refine a dynamic curriculum, including a strong Hebrew reading programme.
4. Events & Community Engagement: Organise special events, encourage family participation in synagogue life, and lead memorable assemblies.
5. Resource Planning: Ensure teaching materials are well-suited to pupils' needs and readily available.
6. Parental Communication: Maintain strong connections with parents and welcome new families to our community.
