Job Title: Head of Corporate Finance

Location: Edinburgh

Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 + Excellent Benefits Package including LTIP

Company Overview

Windward Energy Group is a leader in renewable energy, driving sustainable projects and growth. We seek a Head of Corporate Finance to secure funding, structure financial strategies, and support our expanding portfolio.

Role Overview

As the in-house corporate finance expert, you will lead external funding efforts, collaborating with the CFO and senior leadership to develop innovative financial solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Capital Raising: Secure funding via banks, private placements, equity, and government initiatives. Initially, support the Bute Energy Ltd wind park financing.
2. Negotiation and Counterparty Management: The role holder will be the day-to-day lead on negotiations with key counterparties. They will also be the main point of contact to manage the business' external debt advisors ensuring effective transaction management and post-investment oversight.
3. Financial Modelling & Analysis: Oversee due diligence, valuations, and financial modelling to assess risks and returns.
4. Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Work with Finance leadership to forecast and manage cash flow, ensuring covenant compliance.
5. Regulatory & Legal Compliance: Collaborate with legal teams to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance.
6. M&A & Project Development: Support acquisitions and M&A activities, leading sell-side processes for matured projects.

Key Competencies & Experience

1. Expertise in corporate finance, managing debt and equity transactions.
2. Strong background in renewable energy or infrastructure finance with experience in complex financial structuring.
3. Commercial viability analysis, regulatory compliance, and financial risk management experience.
4. Leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and manage junior colleagues.

Qualifications & Attributes

1. Chartered Accounting Membership (CA, ACA, ACCA) or a CFA/ other relevant corporate finance qualification.
2. Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
3. Passion for renewable energy and alignment with company values.
