We're partnered with a market-leading client who are responsible for the manufacturing, installation and maintenance of digital signage and street furniture for the public. Role Overview: Head of Design Engineering

Managing their dynamic design team based in Greater London, my client is looking for a Head of Design to oversee the in-house design & engineering of street furniture & signal system products. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Design Manager, and have expertise in the street furniture sector.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the in-house design & engineering of both street furniture and signal system products.
2. Co-ordinate the design team and assess their electrical drawings in CAD, ensuring quality is met for the manufacturing team.
3. Manage a team of approximately 10 Design Engineers alongside a Design Manager.
4. Manage specific design & fabrication engineering design activities for both in-house products and customer contracts.

Requirements:

Please note: our client will only consider candidates from within street furniture, street signage & signalling or construction industries.

1. At least 2 years' experience in a design management position, with at least an overall of 7 years' experience in a design engineering role.
2. Degree, HNC or similar level in a design, product design, electrical engineering, or construction engineering discipline.
3. A strong knowledge of sheet metalwork, fabrication, steelwork and signage manufacturing and installation.
4. Proficiency designing in CAD, AutoCAD or SOLIDWORKS.
