Position Purpose:
To ensure that risks to the prevention of financial crime are identified, measured, analysed and reported.
ResponsibilitiesPrimary duties will include:
- To assist the Chief Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Head of Financial Crime Prevention EMEA to ensure timely and effective financial crime prevention risk management.
- To partner with the business, to ensure effective communication regarding financial crime prevention risk management, building relationships and breaking down information silos.
- To work with the development teams globally, to ensure effective data capture, and implement changes required, for example as a result of new regulations or new business initiatives to support financial crime prevention risk management.
- To work with other teams including Operations, Regulatory Operations, Finance and Risk to design, implement and maintain new systems and controls for financial crime risk management.
- To support the Chief Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Head of Financial Crime Prevention EMEA and the wider business access quality, timely management information regarding financial crime risk exposure.
- To research and understand new technology to support business growth and ensure that the systems and controls can be scaled to keep pace with change.
- To undertake thematic work to assess the firms' financial crime prevention risk exposure and make recommendations to the business to enable it to ensure effective risk management and compliance with financial crime prevention regulations.
- Develop and strengthen relationships across the organisation to promote best practice and ensure a good understanding of Financial Crime Prevention risk management requirements.
- Other duties as assigned from time to time.
To land this role you will need:
- Strong understanding of financial crime prevention requirements in regulated financial institutions.
- Strong knowledge of MiFID II, MiFIR, EMIR, SFTR, AEOI, GDPR, Sanctions, ABC and other applicable relevant laws and regulations.
- Excellent critical thinking, with the ability to analyse situations and solve problems, delivering practical and compliant financial crime prevention risk management.
- Must understand and be able to apply a risk-based approach to financial crime prevention.
- Must have experience of delivering comprehensive financial crime risk assessments.
