Head of Finance Systems

Head of Finance Systems role now available at an International Law firm.

This pivotal role involves managing a team that supports their global operations, ensuring the smooth running and continuous improvement of the finance systems. As the Head of Finance Systems you will play a key role in shaping the finance systems strategy and delivering system upgrades, advising on configurations, maintenance, user support, and training.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and develop the Finance Systems team to support the firm's strategic goals.
2. Create and implement a robust Finance Systems roadmap and strategy.
3. Maintain Finance Systems and oversee integrations with other business systems.
4. Drive innovation and efficiency in the use of Finance Systems and our core accounting system, Elite 3E.
5. Ensure timely system upgrades and thorough testing to avoid adverse consequences.
6. Provide user training in best practices and effective use of Finance Systems.
7. Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and key third parties.
8. Document Finance Systems and manage user update requests.
9. Oversee key processes such as month and year-end close, foreign exchange maintenance, and system balancing procedures.
10. Present quarterly briefings to senior finance colleagues on systems strategy and updates.

Experience needed:

1. Minimum of 10 years' experience with finance systems in an international law firm.
2. Proven track record in developing and implementing a Finance Systems strategy.
3. Strong leadership and team management skills.
4. Excellent understanding of accounting practices and financial reporting.
5. Highly IT literate, with experience in Elite 3E preferred.
6. Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple work streams.
7. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
8. Self-motivated with a track record of achievements.
