The Opportunity
As the Head of Insights, you will lead our efforts in translating research data into actionable insights, driving strategic decision making across the company. You will be responsible for gathering and analysing customer, market, and product data to guide teams in creating impactful customer experiences and driving growth. Working closely with cross-functional leaders in Brand, Product, Medical, Analytics, Growth, and Operations teams, you'll ensure that insights align with business objectives and provide a competitive advantage to HeliosX and its brands.
The Head of Insights role is critical to HeliosX's continued success after 2024 saw us triple our revenue, supporting customers all over the world. This role represents the first hire in our new Insights division, with scope to build a team, define our approach, and own the Insights roadmap across the Group. You will shape our understanding of customer segments, product categories, and markets as we scale, leading on research and insights generation across a range of key priorities and strategic initiatives.
This is a full time, permanent position. You will have a hybrid working arrangement, with two days per week expected on site in our Central London offices.
What you'll do
- Define and execute a comprehensive Insights strategy and roadmap that builds deep understanding of our customers and markets, while driving product development and revenue growth
- Build, lead, and develop the Insights team to scale insights delivery across the Group, supporting short and long-term business goals
- Lead in the delivery of insights across customer needs, attitudes, behaviours, and preferences through qualitative and quantitative methodologies (surveys, focus groups, user research, behavioural analytics, etc)
- Monitor market and industry trends, the competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities and risks, including cross-brand synergies
- Partner with Brand, Growth, Product, Medical, NPD and other teams to integrate customer insights into roadmaps, campaigns, new product development, and improvements in the customer journey
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of complex research data sets and provide clear, actionable insights to the business; lead in the translation of insights into recommendations and strategies that drive business performance
- Work cross-functionally to embed insights into planning and execution across departments and initiatives; own the creation of dashboards and lead workshops/presentations to deliver insights to cross-functional stakeholders and partner with them to ensure data-driven decision making and effective prioritisation of work
- Analyse campaign performance and product data sets to identify areas for optimisation and innovation; lead and support in the delivery of broader research initiatives such as brand health, experimentation, customer satisfaction, and loyalty, providing insights that drive brand positioning and retention strategies
- Recruit, manage, and mentor the Insights team, setting objectives and performance expectations, driving their development, and delivering appraisals/feedback; effectively develop the team to increase the range of capabilities and methodologies offered to the business
- Act as the key point of contact in insights for the Senior Leadership team and work closely with other Analytics and research colleagues to embed a data-driven culture and to promote the use of insights across HeliosX
What you'll bring to HeliosX
- Leadership experience within an insights function, ideally focused on healthcare, personal care, eCommerce, or related sectors
- Expertise across a range of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies with case studies that demonstrate the commercial impact of your work
- Highly data literate, with proven ability to distil insights from raw data and translate these into actionable recommendations and strategies that drive business performance
- Experience delivering customer and market insights projects focused on the UK, as well as international markets (ideally the US and/or Germany)
- Proven storytelling approach and exceptional communication skills; you can weave insights into a coherent narrative and partner effectively with senior stakeholders to embed insights and steer strategy across teams and departments
- Prior experience working in high-growth or performance driven environments, where initiatives are closely tied to business and customer outcomes
- Prior experience recruiting, leading, and developing multi discipline research and insights teams
- Comfort working at both the strategic (defining approach, owning the roadmap, partnering with senior leaders) and executional (delivering against briefs, analysing data, translating insights) levels
- Strong motivation to build and own a cross-brand, cross-market Insights function in a rapidly growing business and to drive the development of a truly insights-led culture across the Group
- Whilst not a requirement, experience within an insights function in a direct to consumer (DTC) business would be considered an advantage
