The role of the Head of Operations Excellence for Business Operations addresses the process optimization potential for our ongoing large-scale transformation projects, partnering closely with service towers heads and GPOs.
The individual will play a pivotal role in leading Business Operations through a period of significant change, ensuring intended outcomes are delivered and measured.
Main responsibilities:
Operations excellence cycle build-up and delivery:
- Work closely with BO senior leadership to define the Business Operations transformation initiative's vision, goals and operations excellence priority
- Lead the Business Operations performance review and identify levers for value creation
- Embed the operations excellence priorities in the Continuous Improvement
- Shape the value creation narrative of Business Operations
Transformation programs management:
- Drive execution of major operations excellence projects within Business Operations, requiring involvement of several stakeholders (Digital, procurement, Finance and BO service towers)
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, including timelines, milestones, and resource requirements
- Hold all parties involved in the transformation initiatives accountable through effective governance structure
- Rely on data and analytics to measure the impact of the changes and the achievement of transformation goals
- Monitor and report on the progress of the transformation program, providing regular updates to senior leaders and stakeholders
Stakeholder Management:
- Given the transversal overview and knowledge this role implies, the senior director will need to contribute to the stakeholder engagement plan building in close collaboration with service towers heads and change teams
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure that all stakeholders are informed about the transformation, their concerns are addressed, and are actively involved throughout the process
- Partner with the change management teams to ensure right narrative and messages are delivered consistently
- Effectively collaborate with change management team to drive transformation outcomes
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with various departments and teams across Sanofi to ensure that the transformation is integrated into all aspects of the business
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders, key stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure their active involvement and endorsement of transformation initiatives
Leadership & Communication:
- Provide strong leadership throughout transformation process, inspiring and motivating teams
- Provide effective communication, both upward to senior leadership and downward to employees
- Articulate a clear and compelling vision of change through use of evidence-based business cases
- Present at board level on strategy and progress of transformation programme
- Define target KPIs for programme delivery, ensure benefits realisation mechanisms are in place throughout and embedded after the transformation
- Bachelor's degree in business, management, science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Proven track record of ten years in leadership roles, leading global transformation programs and driving successful business outcomes. A strategy consulting background will be a plus
- Strong understanding of transformation methodologies, change management practices, and project management principles
- Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams in a matrixed and international environment
- An assertive Permit-to-Work behaviour and charismatic/emphatic approach are a must
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Deep understanding of agile and design thinking methodologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement
- Analytical mindset and strategic thinking, with the ability to navigate complex business challenges and identify innovative solutions
- Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes
