Head of Partnerships and Philanthropy GroceryAidWe are searching for a Head of Partnerships and Philanthropy for GroceryAid, a charity supporting people working in the grocery trade, providing financial, emotional and practical aid.
- Location: Hybrid / 2 days in the office, Sandhurst, Berkshire
GroceryAid has been the charity for the grocery industry since 1857 and they provide free and confidential welfare support to anyone working in the grocery industry, from the first day of their employment.
More than 450 of the most well-known grocery retailers and FMCG companies support the charity, enabling them to help more than 70,000 people in the last twelve months. There are thousands more in the grocery industry who need their help.
The charity raises over £21m annually, mainly through a highly respected events calendar, which includes Barcode Festival, an annual event attracting over 1200 retailers and 6000+ individuals and raising in excess of £1m in income. GroceryAid is networked at the highest levels within the grocery industry, including CEOs and Managing Directors of the biggest names nationally.
GroceryAid supports people like Jack, who became homeless after his mother died, and unable to read or write, found himself at risk of eviction from a YMCA hostel for non-payment of rent. With GroceryAid's support he was able to negotiate the eviction and access a grant to reduce rental arrears and find a stable home to live. GroceryAid wants to be there for every grocery worker and their families when they need the support.
About the role.The Head of Partnerships and Philanthropy will report to the Director of Fundraising, who has driven significant growth in income through the delivery of commercially strategic industry events. With an unrivalled and warm network of influential leaders across the retail industry, and a strong commercial offer, there is huge opportunity to diversify income to support thousands more beneficiaries.
You will be responsible for developing innovative and strategic corporate partnerships and lead on applications for funding from corporate foundations and Trusts, by leveraging relationships with stakeholders at the highest level across the retail sector.
This is both a strategic and hands-on role and the successful candidate will work with autonomy to proactively target and secure funding, as well as advocating for fundraising internally to implement best-in-class donor stewardship and reporting.
Who we are looking for.We are searching for candidates who have extensive experience in corporate partnerships and in bid writing for trusts and corporate foundations. Experience stewarding HNWI is desirable but not essential.
You will be a strategic relationship builder who can steward corporate partners and senior stakeholders within the retail sector to secure multi-year partnerships and grants.
