About the role:
Accountable for leading the Programme Delivery Team, the Head of Programme Delivery is responsible for all aspects of the project management competency across multiple work streams ensuring delivery to time, quality, and cost objectives.
The Head of Programme Delivery will be responsible for the full team of Programme and Project Managers who lead the sizing, control, and implementation of multiple, simultaneous small, medium, and large project requests. They will provide strategic leadership and direction to the team and ensure full accountability for the delivery of both technical and business projects.
Where required, will take leadership roles on critical pieces of work to ensure the necessary standards of outcomes are delivered.
- Lead the Programme Delivery competency across DHL eCommerce UK to ensure all members are performing at the requisite levels.
- Lead the Programme Delivery workstream by providing strategic guidance and leadership to the team to ensure quality and timeliness of delivery across DHL eCommerce UK.
- Own and drive the commitment to the use of the Published PMO Process across DHL eCommerce UK.
- Ensure the successful execution of IT and Business change projects to approved budgets, schedules, and scope.
- As required, participate in Steering Groups where a project is required, to support stakeholders across the business and IT delivery teams.
- Perform stage gate reviews and quality assurance reviews with all aspects of the IT organisation and business sponsors.
- Review and support the management of identified risks and issues and escalate accordingly.
- Manage the project resources and ensure that the resource plan across the Programme Delivery Team matches the requirement to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Perform a key role in the management of a project pipeline to ensure that commitments to delivery are based on fact and a real understanding of the associated business value.
- Provide escalatory support on any variances to project plans, whether they concern time, cost, or quality measures and support resolution or approval activities from the project sponsor/project board for the project to proceed.
- Support, coach, and develop all members of the Programme Delivery Team in key, core aspects of the Project Manager role and ensure the ongoing development of resources within.
