Job Description
Project Planning and Strategy- Develop comprehensive pre-clinical R&D project plans, including setting clear objectives, timelines, and milestones.
- Design research strategies in line with regulatory requirements and industry SOPs.
- Identify and prioritize research activities, allocate resources effectively, and ensure that the project stays on track within the budget.
- Lead the writing and reporting of research reports, provide key data support for clinical applications (such as IND), regularly report project progress to management, and formulate the next-step strategies.
- Design pre-clinical experiments, such as in-vitro and in-vivo studies, to evaluate the safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetics of the product under development. Supervise the execution of these experiments, ensuring high-quality data collection and compliance with ethical and scientific standards.
- Lead the establishment and optimization of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all pre-clinical research activities, and train the research team to follow these procedures.
- Lead a cross-functional team of scientists, technicians, and researchers, providing clear direction, setting performance goals, and conducting regular performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Coordinate with internal departments, such as chemistry, biology, toxicology, and regulatory affairs, to ensure seamless project progress. Collaborate with external partners, including contract research organizations (CROs), academic institutions, and suppliers, to leverage external expertise and resources.
- Analyze pre-clinical data, interpret results, and draw meaningful conclusions. Prepare detailed reports on project progress, experimental results, and challenges encountered. Present these reports to senior management, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions regarding project continuation, modification, or termination. Ensure that all data is properly stored, managed, and can be retrieved for future reference or audits.
- Identify potential risks and challenges in the pre-clinical R&D process, such as technical difficulties, regulatory issues, or resource constraints. Develop mitigation strategies to address these risks in a timely manner.
- Solve complex problems that arise during the project, leveraging your scientific knowledge, project management skills, and industry experience.
The Successful Applicant
Education and Experience- A doctoral degree in pharmacology, toxicology, biology, chemistry, or a related field.
- At least 8-10 years of experience in pre-clinical R&D, with a proven track record of overseeing successful projects.
- A solid foundation in pharmacology and pharmacodynamics, and familiarity with the research frontiers in the fields of immunology and metabolism.
In-depth knowledge of pre-clinical research methods, including in-vitro cell-based assays, animal models, and toxicology studies. Familiarity with relevant regulatory guidelines.
Project Management Skills- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, monitor, and control projects.
- Experience with project management tools, such as Microsoft Project or Jira, is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to non-scientific stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and with external partners.
