Vypr's Head of Research is a Manchester-based hybrid role focused on leading our research team to deliver actionable consumer insights through our product intelligence platform for retailers and manufacturers.

Things that you will doAs Vypr's Head of Research you will lead the Research team to provide robust and actionable insights that meets our customers' needs. Our approach must be scalable across markets and sectors and promote customer perception of exceptional support and expertise. Vypr is a fast-paced business, so you must be able to prioritise workloads for the team, ensuring that they focus on the tasks that will best drive our business strategy. People management is a critical focus of this role to ensure that our exceptional team meet their full potential via mentoring and development. You will need to use your experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to respond to customer briefs and meet more customer product needs via our research platform. Additionally, you will act as an advisor on research methodologies and Behavioural Science to the product team, bringing in and managing external support where required.
What you will be responsible forCurrently, Vypr has a fantastic reputation for providing exceptional customer research as seen by our NPS score of . As we grow, it is critical that we maintain this USP via operational excellence. The team has a number of key objectives that you will have overall accountability for:
- Providing a centre of best-practice training to ensure that internal users and customers ask the right questions using the best methodology
- Increasing customer retention by providing exceptional support for customer projects and proof of concepts
- Supporting the Commercial team to increase revenue by providing international access (where not self-serve) and a raft of advanced analytics as managed services
- Advising the product team on research methodologies with behavioural science led solutions for new product functionality
You will be a strategic thinker who can own and deliver the Team strategy, maximising commercial and reputational output. Managing and upskilling the team is critical to the success of this role. You need to be an inspirational manager, always leading by example and setting clear and consistent ways of working with a clear ROI. You will use your understanding of the Product Lifecycle (ideally in FMCG/CPG and retail), coupled with your Qualitative and Quantitative research experience to identify customer insights needs and recommend ways to achieve them via our research platforms. Being a good, clear and inspirational communicator (both written and verbal) is also key, as is being able to effectively 'tell a compelling story' in any customer output. You will be able to move at speed while creating and following the right level of process to act as guardrails. You are adept at managing in all directions with team members and external suppliers. As an effective problem-solver, the team will feel supported and empowered to excel in their roles.
