Business-critical head of service required to oversee services managing over £250m in statutory and company benefits expenditure and collecting over £300m in council tax, business rates, and debt income annually.

The role involves:

1. Serving as the strategic and operational lead for income collection areas such as Council Tax, Business Rates, and debt management, as well as administering statutory and council welfare benefits to residents, ensuring efficiency and high-quality resident experience.
2. Supporting the design and implementation of the new Tackling Inequality model, leading the council's Ethical Debt Collection Policy, and innovating ways to prevent resident debt, address it early, facilitate easy payments, and provide timely welfare support and advice to those in financial difficulty.
3. Developing and implementing local policies aligned with manifesto commitments for revenues, benefits, and debt, advising elected members, and enacting policy changes from Central Government.
