Job Description
We are seeking a Head of SIPP Risk to join our SIPP team. The SIPP Practice Area provides administration and trusteeship services to over 70,000 self-invested personal pension arrangements for members, both advised and non-advised and have ambitious plans to grow our customer base.
This role can be based in our Cheltenham or Glasgow offices working on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities:- Lead and oversee 'first line of defence' risk mitigation activities within the SIPP business area.
- Participate in risk mitigation activities across other business areas.
- Provide advice to the BW SIPP Board on a suitable risk appetite framework for the business area. Guide and advise the SIPP Management Committee on achieving and executing the strategic goals within this risk appetite framework.
- Act as Risk Champion for the business area. Provide guidance and advice to other senior managers on managing risks both within their functions and as part of the strategic approach to risk of the business area as a whole.
- Monitor the external environment for emerging risks and lead discussions on their potential impacts to our strategy and revisions to it that may be needed.
- Chair and lead the Small Schemes Investment Committee, ensuring robust and appropriate due diligence is undertaken on all investments.
- Manage and develop the Team Leader for the CASS Reconciliations team and their team to ensure our regulatory duties in this area are met through formal and informal development.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to the property team in dealing with complex or difficult property issues.
- Ensure all HMRC and regulatory reporting are completed and submitted on time.
- Extensive knowledge of the SIPP and SSAS marketplace and investments is essential.
- Extensive knowledge of 'first line of defence' risk management approaches.
- Knowledge and experience of CASS 7 and 8 requirements desirable.
- Knowledge and experience of risk-based capital and wind down plans.
- Ability to build strong rapport with clients, key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
