Join the Close Brothers Technology Team where you will be responsible for the development, support and growth of technology specialists dedicated to creating and configuring software products that deliver against our commercial, operational and technology strategies. Working as part of the Technology team, our ideal team member will have previous experience in developing and maintaining an environment of technical excellence, innovation, and agility through the definition of best practice standards and processes, implementing and embedding these and then driving a culture of continuous improvement with excellent reasoning and analytical skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support projects, functions or teams in the development of measurement methods.
- Contribute to identifying new areas of capability improvement within the organisation which may be enhancements to skills, technology or processes.
- Lead activities to make security and privacy integral to systems development.
- Provide guidance to individuals on long-term development goals and career opportunities, considering an individual's strengths and preferences.
- Lead the development of workforce plans to ensure the availability of appropriately skilled resources to meet organisational objectives and commitments.
- Plan and manage the acquisition and deployment of resources to meet specific needs and ongoing demand.
- Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
- Working with the Head of Infrastructure and Engineering and HR Business Partner, develop a culture of performance management, improvement and appraisal as a foundation for excellent organisational performance.
Developing Our People: As a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:
- Experience of software development at scale in a Financial Services environment.
- Experience of working on global initiatives, engaging with team members and stakeholders in multiple locations.
- Experience of transformation and operating in a DevOps / Agile environment.
- A range of enterprise digital transformation projects.
- The ability to work autonomously under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences.
- In-depth experience of SDLC processes, governance, tools and automated delivery pipelines.

- A strong ability to influence stakeholders and drive a transformation agenda.
- The ability to challenge accepted wisdom to ensure focus is aimed at the most appropriate solution rather than accept those that have "always been that way."
