We are looking for an entry-level Health Economics Analyst with exceptional attention to detail to join our team. This job is an opportunity for a driven, enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in gaining skills and understanding in health economics. Under the supervision of an experienced team, the successful candidate will participate in all aspects of health economic research, performing clinical and economic evidence review, synthesis of inputs (inclusive of survival analysis and network meta-analysis), model development and communication. Key responsibilities
  • Work with senior health economists and researchers to develop and adapt economic models using international best practice guidelines.
  • Review and critically appraise health economic evidence.
  • Assist in the development of slide decks, study reports, manuscripts, posters and other publications related to health economics and outcomes research.
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of projects, client communication, presentations and administration of client meetings.
  • Assist in business development activities, including tasks related to proposals for new projects.
  • Keep informed about new technical methods or best practice guidance, and be able to present and advise colleagues about these at internal meetings.
  • Undertake activities related to quality assurance (i.e. using quality assurance checklists, proofing).
  • Undertake activities of continuous professional development and learning.

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the organisation's overall business objectives.

Essential requirements and qualifications
  • Post-graduate degree (MSc or equivalent) in health economics or related discipline; or equivalent related professional experience in a health economics and outcomes research setting.
  • Knowledge of health economic evaluation approaches and modelling techniques.
  • A genuine interest and good understanding of health economics, statistical concepts and critical review of scientific literature.
  • Strong critical thinking, quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Ability to synthesise and summarise large amounts of scientific information under a deadline.
  • An organised and methodological approach to planning and delivering high quality work, given competing demands and changing deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively engage with a wide-ranging audience.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team-oriented environment, taking responsibility for specific areas of a project with support from more experienced team members.
  • High self-motivation, can-do attitude and optimistic outlook.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and develop within the role, as well as assist others with less experience.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Desirable skills and experience

These are nice-to-have skills. Candidates that do not fulfil these requirements but have an interest in this role are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience conducting and critiquing economic evaluations.
  • Experience with statistical and economic modelling software (e.g. R, Treeage, WinBUGS, SAS, Stata).
  • Experience of analysing large datasets, understanding of clinical trial design and statistical methods.
  • Experience using EndNote.
  • Experience working in healthcare research or health technology assessment.
  • Familiarity with the evidentiary requirements for submissions to health technology assessment (HTA) bodies (e.g. the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence).
  • Postgraduate qualification(s) in a relevant life science research or quantitative discipline.
