Location: Bracknell or Birmingham
Duration: 6 months (long term extensions expected)
IR35: Inside
Rate: £500-550/day (negotiable)

Overview: We're looking for a Cisco Subject Matter Expert to support the design, deployment, and management of complex network infrastructure. You'll bring deep technical knowledge of Cisco technologies, acting as a go-to expert across multiple projects and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design and implementation of Cisco-based network solutions (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi)
2. Troubleshoot and resolve high-level network issues
3. Provide expert input on infrastructure projects and proposals
4. Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and cloud teams to ensure robust and secure network designs
5. Maintain detailed technical documentation
6. Offer mentoring and knowledge transfer to internal teams

Key Skills & Experience:

1. Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching, and firewalls
2. Deep understanding of protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS
3. Experience with Cisco ISE, ASA, Meraki, and Nexus platforms
4. Solid understanding of network security best practices
5. Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools
6. Cisco certifications (e.g. CCNP, CCIE) preferred
7. Experience working in enterprise or government environments is a plus
