Job Description
Industrial Engineering Designer
North Greenwich
Long term Contract
£18 - £21 per hour PAYE
£20 - £27 per hour LTD
Ensure Industrialisation and introduction of new high reliability products into production.
Define and design new tooling and equipment to simplify the assembly of Optical/Electrical products in production and aid reduction of build times.
Responsibilities include:- Working with Industrial and Research & Development Engineers in the design and Industrialisation of new products.
- Proposing new tooling concepts that can simplify assembly operations and ensure reliable and consistent build methods.
- Proposing alternative tooling solutions to address various assembly requirements.
- Providing PowerPoint presentations for new tooling concepts.
- Designing tooling using Creo CAD package to the required specification for quotation, manufacture and 3D modeling.
- Using Creo CAD package in line with company procedure.
- Working with Tooling Manufacturers to answer any technical questions promptly and professionally, ensuring on-time delivery of tooling.
- Defining the calibration period & inspection requirements for each tooling, maintaining in-house maintenance databases where applicable.
- Validating new tooling on various mechanical models to ensure they are fit for purpose.
- Training Operators in the use of new tooling and build processes.
- Being part of the IED Team to oversee the build of qualification models, ensuring correct build method and correct use of new tooling.
- Understanding and complying with the clean area environmental rules and adhering to mandatory Quality and Safety procedures, including build documentation, ESD, Risk assessments, COSHH and Manual Handling regulations.
- Writing build Specifications for new products, ensuring operations are carried out in the correct sequence and use of correct tooling.
Mechanical Engineering Degree.
Experience working with Creo CAD package.
Additional Skills:- Ability to make reliability engineering judgments under pressure.
- Experience in a technical and/or manufacturing environment.
- Organized, disciplined & methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Motivated with strong interpersonal & team skills.
- Sound practical experience with Excel and Word.
- Work experience with SAP.
